Position title : India Operations Director

Reports to : Senior Vice President, Global Finance and Operations Support

Direct report : Nil

Date : September 2016

The incumbent oversees and manages the daily operations of the Bangalore office by frequent

communication and ongoing collaboration with the various department team leaders both internal and

external to the Bangalore office; this includes Client Accounting, Client Services, Global Initiations,

Compensation Services, Human Resources, IT, Procurement, Corporate Accounting and Global Financial

Services departments. The Director will work directly with leads for Human Resources, Procurement,

Office Administration, IT, Training, and Department leaders in the office. The Director takes the lead on

ensuring the office staffs are clear on corporate policies and processes, understanding and emulating

Brookfield GRS corporate values and culture, establishing a safe and productive office environment,

ensuring business continuity, and encouraging team collaboration and staff development and training.

Primary Responsibilities:

Approves payment of all invoices/bills that relate to office operations.

Provides guidance and assistance to departments with their Bangalore projects and initiatives.

Responsible for managing the India P&L specifically looking at operational expenses and efficiencies

for the office and striving to achieve and surpass annual budgets.

Participates in annual budget and re-forecasting exercises for the Bangalore office.

Continuously identifies potential cost savings for the India office.

Works closely with the local leadership team to build a team culture, implement operational best

practices and drives employee engagement.

Work with people managers of the matrix reporting teams by providing advice on local employee

support, development and people management.

Creates eminence in the India marketplace.

Creates an environment for success through organizing and leading regular communication forums,

including operational team meetings and strategic leadership meetings with regional directors and

managers, including all functional areas within the region and the entire India office.

Where necessary, acts as the company representative, with governance responsibilities, for all local

statutory and regulatory requirements.

Supports broader company initiatives including the vision, mission and values.

Represents Operations as necessary on cross-functional projects and teams.

Conveys a professional image and commands the respect of team members, internal employees,

clients and suppliers as an inspired and motivational leader who conveys trust and confidence

through finesse, discretion, loyalty and integrity.

Proactively reaches out to the matrix leaders to discuss short term issues and priorities and longer

term strategy.

Drive the strategic planning and direction of the Group and guide the management to implement

administrative policies and strategies for the benefit of the Company as a whole.

Represents Brookfield local support for client presentations and office visits

Provide supervision to the Office Administration Manager and a final decision maker on managing of

office facilities, office expansion/renovation projects, office safety and security.

Participate in company RFP’s for new business and manage any potential site visits

Organize and coordinate global leader visits to the Bangalore office

Develop and distribute KPI’s as applicable

Organize and be actively involved in India calibration meetings with HR

Ensuring business continuity and staff safety as lead in Business Continuity Plan

Working with Procurement to ensure office related suppliers are cost effective and meetin

performance targets

Desired Skills, Experience & Qualifications Requirement:

Bachelors or Master’s degree in business, communication, Human Resources, or related field.

Minimum 10 – 15 years' experience working in a senior management/executive role within leading

multinational organizations with minimum 5 years people management experience

Demonstrates general business acumen and understands the influences and effects of overall

business environment

Demonstrated success in managing and leading a diverse group of professionals across regions and

cultures

Demonstrated ability to be a strategic leader who can develop creative solutions through knowledge

and experience of the operational detail

Proven ability to collaborate and contribute effectively in teams and across company disciplines

Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize, with a high level of work ethic.

Must be culturally sensitive and able to operate effectively in a range of business and cultural

environments

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present in an articulate and

professional manner.

Excellent project management skills with strong ability in interpreting and analyzing financial data

Excellent English written and oral communication skills
