Description

The Role (Reporting Analyst)

This position is an integral part of the Data Management Reporting team whose mission is to provide meaningful data and reports for our internal customers, external clients & vendors. This position will spend significant time assisting

BGRS Account Managers, Directors, and team leads with extracting, formatting, and collating data for both internal customer and external client reports. In addition, this individual interacts with BGRS Senior Management for internal data & reporting requests that are required to run the business. The Reporting Analyst will work closely with the IT, client services, client accounting, prospective clients, current clients, Senior Management as well as outside vendors and most internal employees in the BGRS group to support them on day-to-day needs of reporting and data analysis with an aim to achieve highest standard with accuracy and timeliness.
 

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, support and maintain Standard and Ad-hoc reports achieving highest standard of accuracy and timeliness using industry standard practices

  • Design, develop, enhance, support and maintain Automated reporting processes/jobs using

  • T-SQL, SQL, PERL, SAP Business Objects, Microsoft BI Tools, MS Access, ServicEngine Databases and other tools to reduce manual intervention and to achieve increased productivity

  • Quality control of reporting performed by department to ensure that reports are meeting the requests of the operational areas (accuracy and timeliness)

  • Liaise with internal customers, external clients & vendors to gather, validate and document reporting requirements and provide appropriate reporting solutions

  • Understand the needs of internal and external partners to produce accurate and timely Standard and Ad-hoc reports

     

  • Coordinate development and maintenance of consistent universal data definitions for business reporting

  • Prepare and present analytical data and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders as well as BGRS Senior Management

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

  • Provide data for data integrity audits

  • Production of Quarterly/Mid-Year and Annual client reviews

  • Proactively identify, support and coordinate report Automation opportunities.

  • Proactively identify, recommend and communicate Innovative reporting opportunities

  • Develop the testing, implementation and validation, in addition to after-installation validation of reports

  • Assists with Premier Service reporting, survey development, testing and data integrity

  • Act as SME to other department administrative personnel on report issues and resolutions as well as reports training

 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in Data Reporting and Analysis from multiple sources using various reporting and data analysis tools

  • Strong knowledge of and experience in reporting and analysis using various BI/Reporting tools (Microsoft BI Tools - SSRS/SSAS/SSIS, Performance Point Technology, SAP Business Objects etc.)

  • Strong experience in one of the Query Languages (T-SQL or SQL)

  • Adept at writing complex queries using SQL/T-SQL for reporting purposes

  • Experience working with MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 or higher

  • Clear understanding of Relational Database concept with proven track record of working with one or more DBMS/RDBMS Databases (i.e. Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2, MySQL)

  • Experience in Structured report development utilizing various Data Sources & back-end databases using industry standard practice

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings to internal and external stake-holders

  • Experience in analysis, programming and reporting using SQL/T-SQL

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suites – Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word.

 

Advantageous Skills & Experience

  • Programming experience using PERL language is a plus

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with programming language (Visual Basic .NET, C#, Java, C/C++ etc.)

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) & cube

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with Power Pivot and excel macros

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with Power View

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) language

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with MDX (MultiDimensional eXpressions) language

  • Knowledge and/or experience in writing Reports with Microsoft Reports Integrated in SharePoint

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with Report Builder

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with Visual Studio

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with VBA/Macros and Advanced Excel functionality

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Information Technology, Business or the equivalent and/or very strong related work experience, including business experience.
