Role Overview

Your role as Manager, Proposal Development will be to develop, co-ordinate and support sales and client retention efforts, fulfilling corporate and regional proposal objectives. You will be working as a key member of the global Sales and Marketing team reporting to the Director, Proposal Development, and you will support proposal team workflow and fulfilling the overall Sales and Marketing strategy. This full-time position is a virtual position, but is expected to maintain regular hours in alignment with the rest of the team members.

What You'll Be Doing

 

  • Actively manage proposal projects within the established proposal process from inception to completion, including writing, editing and final submission
  • Coordinate the flow of information from various Subject Matter Expert (SME) contributors to meet all deadlines
  • Proofread and edit communications materials to ensure proper formatting, content and adherence to applicable standards (e.g. branding)
  • Proactively identify and manage risks to proposal deadlines
  • Research and write standard and customized proposals of varying scope and complexity globally
  • Work closely with Vice Presidents, Business Development and Vice Presidents, Client Services to develop proposals that are closely tailored to clients and prospects
  • Provide strategic input on key pursuits and work directly with Client Services on opportunities where Sales is not involved
  • Build strong internal relationships and strategic alliances to facilitate and improve the proposal process
  • Manage multiple proposals of varying scope and complexity concurrently
  • Confirm that proposals comply with BGRS quality measures and initiatives
  • Create a clear and compelling demonstration of the solution being offered
  • Assist in updates of the proposal content database and develop new information-gathering systems/procedures to maximize productivity on deadline-oriented projects
  • Develop an understanding of key industry issues and company operations and be able to interview company employees to obtain information for use in marketing materials

What BGRS Offers
  • BA/BS degree in Communications/Marketing or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3 + years proposal development experience including large scope (multi-million dollar) national and/or global proposals
  • 1+ year domestic and/or international relocation experience preferred
  • Other marketing or sales experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience managing tight deadlines and multiple projects of varying scope with changing priorities
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision and to collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • Advanced oral and written skills a must including proof reading proposals to ensure proper formatting, content and adherence to applicable standards (e.g. branding)
  • Knowledge of typical procurement-driven online purchasing systems (i.e: Ariba, SmartSource, Emptoris, etc.) preferred
  • Familiarity with Qvidian system preferred
  • Occasional weekend and odd hours (early morning/late night) will be required to make sure deadlines are met
