Description
Role Overview:

The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for the deployment, support and management of client/server computing technology (i.e. desktop, notebook, printer, Blackberry, etc). The position is heavily focused on 2nd level support, and maintenance of the workstation/server environments. This position will participate in the on-going technology refresh and asset management initiatives, and may participate in technology deployment projects.
 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the configure, administer and support Corporate IT Infrastructure hardware, software and systems
  • Provide 1st and 2nd level incident support and resolution
  • Deploy hardware and software technology to address client request for service
  • Participate in technology management processes, including technology refresh, asset inventory and configuration management
  • Enhance the technical expertise of peers via the development and delivery of product training to peers, and the creation and maintenance of documentation
  • Network services (including security, print/file) servers (applications, file) e-mail and communications systems,
     system backups and overall systems security
  • Produce technical and user documentation for products and services
  • Perform Incident Management
  • Disaster Recovery Design, Planning, Deployment, & execution of tests
 
Qualifications:
  • Degree/ Diploma
  • 1+ years of 2nd level support
  • 1+ years of enterprise client/server, networking, and Internet environments
  • Microsoft SMS/SCCM, Active Directory services, Blackberry Enterprise Server;
  • ITIL fundamentals certification with sound knowledge of Incident and Problem Management (nice to have)
  • Microsoft certifications nice to have (MCDST, MCSA)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are required
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A professional attitude and good judgment approach to technology;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced changing environment
