Manager – Proposal Development

The Proposal Development Manager will join a team of dedicated proposal developers and become a member of the global Marketing and Communications team. This position is critical to sourcing, crafting, and maintaining compelling and factual language and proposal responses by fully understanding and translating requirements, sales strategy and solutions into engaging, customer-ready materials. This role’s contributions directly impact our quality, win rate and reputation overall. The position also involves developing and overseeing content – furthering our content strategy by working across multiple groups in close collaboration with our subject matter experts (SMEs). As a member of the Global Marketing and Communications team, this role has the inherent responsibility of being a brand ambassador and knowledge keeper of the current facts, figures and differentiators that set BGRS apart from the competition.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Proposal Development Manager, you will work with a number of stakeholders across disciplines to support opportunities throughout key stages of a pursuit while partnering with Client Development and Client Services account owners. This will include developing compelling language, communicating and incorporating win themes and supporting strategies into proposals from concept to completion. The individual will have overall responsibility for our content development and database, directly supervising an individual in the coordination, creation and maintenance of that content while also guiding and nurturing knowledge sharing among the team. You will:

 

  • Play an active part in the business development process, including ensuring opportunity strategy is being driven cohesively, from early stages of an opportunity through contract signing

  • Support Client Development and Client Services with client communication in the pursuit of new business

  • Project manage the end-to-end proposal process to ensure all expectations, deliverables and timelines are understood and met

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate technical capabilities and strategic messaging into compelling proposal responses

  • Guide the proposal team in developing win themes and ensure they are reflected throughout client communications, the proposal and presentations

  • Manage proposal team briefings / debriefs in conjunction with the Client Development or Client Services lead

  • Copywrite, edit and format proposals to ensure they are accurate, well-written and persuasive

  • Collaborate with team and director to refine proposal processes; increase efficiency and streamline daily operations while continuously improving the proposal process through best practices

  • Promote company-wide understanding and adherence to the proposal process

  • Work collaboratively across multiple groups to set content strategy with the established approach governing all content development activities

  • Partner with our SMEs forming trusted relationships where knowledge is mutually shared, captured and proactively communicated, as well as made avaialble to the team for rapid incorporation in client deliverables

  • Ensure newly created content is updated in Qvidian knowledge base in a timely and accurate manner assuring that the team is on the forefront of new knoweldge

  • Be in lockstep with our offering, positioning, differentiators and strategic approach as a brand ambassador demonstrating in-depth knowledge in this area

  • Conduct competitive research and integrate into content repository and proposals

  • Contribute to broader Marketing/Communications efforts by harnessing writing, project and process management skills as needed


Qualifications
 

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in proposal writing, proposal management, content development and system oversight, and communications in a B2B / professional services environment. A demonstrable ability to lead, meet tight deadlines, project manage the end-to-end proposal process and work as part of a team or independently are crucial to the role.

 

  • 7 - 10 years of experience in proposal writing and proposal management

  • Strong project management skills

  • 3- 5 years of content management/oversight

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and proposal management software / language libraries (e.g., Qvidian, Xait Porter, PMAPS or similar) required, with strong technological proclivity preferred

  • Experience leading people with 2-3 years of management experience preferred

  • Enthusiastic, flexible approach with demonstrated pursuit of excellence throughout career

  • Professional marketing / communications degree or equivalent qualifications

  • Experience in the relocation industry is a plus

  • Fluency in English
