Role Overview:
The Human Resources Manager, EMEA, partners with the Global HR team and people managers and employees in EMEA to support the overall business success and align HR practices with current and future business needs. Provides overall HR Generalist support to EMEA client groups, including the design and execution of local HR policies and processes and implementation of global HR policies and processes, e.g. performance management, talent development, talent acquisition and the resolution of employee relations issues.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop regional EMEA HR policy, process and practice to ensure alignment and compliance with corporate policies, legal requirements, and continually reinforce delivery of best practices locally. Responsible for the successful implementation including education and communication.
  • Own EMEA employee relations activity for EMEA population of managers and below, including applying policies, providing advisory services and supporting business operation of disciplinary and grievance processes
  • Lead internal investigations and make recommendations to Leaders as appropriate
  • Advise and counsel employees and people managers on HR policy, practice, and procedures
  • Improve people manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying potential issues, providing solutions and coaching/ counseling managers and employees
  • Pro-actively assist management in addressing performance and behavioral issues and identifying opportunities for performance improvement
  • Accountable for delivery of EMEA benefit and pension offering, including preparing recommendations of changes to local benefits in line with market demand and evolution to reflect Brookfield’s aspiration to be acknowledged as an Employer of Choice.
  • Keep abreast of changes to employment law and proactively communicate these to the HR team and client group as necessary
  • Provide a seamless service with the HR team to employees
  • Participate in HR Global team projects, balancing day-to-day client requests with project initiatives
  • Build strong relationships across multiple functions and locations to best enable and support change management efforts
  • Direct Manager of HR Consultant
  • Oversee HRIS data management and requisite people transaction approvals
  • Responsible for implementing global HR programs, policies and practices in the EMEA office. Conduct internal training and briefing sessions as required.
  • Talent Acquisition oversight of EMEA recruitment processes and delivery up to Manager level
Skills and Experience Required:
  • CIPD Qualified preferred, or strong desire to obtain certification and equivalent working experience demonstrated
  • Strong HR experience in leading employee relations processes and exposure to a partnering style of HR delivery
  • Experience in providing employment benefits and working with suppliers
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • Excellent delivery and implementation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to present a thoughtful business approach to decisions

Preferred:
  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Experience working with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Project planning and / or coordination experience
  • Experience working with multiple locations in a matrix organization
  • Training/ presentations experience
Additional Information:
  • Infrequent travel may be required
  • Willingness to participate in conference calls outside regular business hours to accommodate global HR team
