Lead Business Intelligence Analyst

This role will be part of a critical team focused on developing self-serve dashboards and providing analytical support to management teams in the organization.  This includes establishing KPIs, dashboard requirements gathering, dashboard development and implantation of governance process to ensure KPIs are met. A high degree of initiative, ownership, and the ability to collaborate with multiple levels of the organization will be required to be successful in this role.  The BI Analyst will need to be results oriented, and able to overcome barriers to deliver results on time. 

The BI Analyst will also collaborate with various teams in the organization including Client Services, Global Financial Operations, Finance, and Business Operations in order to build operational dashboards and analytical reports that will assist process owners in their decision making process. A successful candidate will have a strong operational mindset that can understand the key aspects of service delivery, quality, and cost control. 
 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with process owners and stakeholders to understand business objectives, data and reporting requirements, and translate them into KPI’s, automated reports and interactive data visualizations/dashboards with deep analysis
  • Participate in, or lead, planning sessions with process owners, and team members to analyze business requirements, assess feasibility of solution, develop detailed functional requirements, and provide reporting/dashboard design recommendations
  • Prepare project plans and resource estimates, assigns and manages project responsibilities, and performs status reporting
  • Lead reporting analysts, including managing and mentoring performance of the team, and scaling the team to meet the needs of the company
  • Design, build and implement Power BI dashboards/MS  report for BGRS internal processes and scale it across the organization
  • Share best practices and tools for accessing data to make data-driven decisions throughout the entire organization
  • Proactively maintain and monitor the quality of our dashboards/reports
  • Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports

Operational Governance

  • Validate the ‘ownership’ of the KPIs/Financial SLAs by the business team and identify the ongoing team members for the oversight of the respective KPIs for the existing as well as new processes/clients
  • Coordinate with business owners for any missed KPIs and corresponding actions to be taken to improve the performance
  • Consolidate and report out key insights and status of missed KPIs to management teams
  • Additional duties and projects as required
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems; or related degree, or equivalent experience in a similarly situated environment
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Business Intelligence including developing and managing BI reports and dashboard projects through the full lifecycle
  • Experience working with MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 or higher
  • Strong knowledge of reporting and analysis using various BI/Reporting tools (Microsoft BI Tools - SSRS/SSAS/SSIS), Power Pivot, Power View  
  • Strong experience in one of the Query Languages (T-SQL or SQL)
  • Excellent communication skills, dedication to business partnering, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret data, analyze information, and establish trends; ability to write formal recommendations and proposals
  • Results orientated with the ability to prioritize and achieve results through others while working to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Manage deliverables in a fast-paced environment with multiple shifting priorities
  • Ability to network and influence across the organization at all levels.
  • Work and collaborate closely with our IT counterparts
