Summary of Job:

Reporting to the VP of Global Financial Operations, this position is responsible for the oversight of Billing, Revenue Assurance and Collections teams in India.

The role carries responsibility for global production of client invoices as well as a range of company-wide revenue control and receivable collection processes. Experience of managing billing and collections functions is required as well as an extensive multi-team people management competency.

The successful candidate will very likely hold a recognized accountancy qualification. They will also be competent in metric reporting, used to operating within a matrix structure and working with teams in multiple locations across the globe including the US, UK and India.

The role will involve ownership of existing functions as well as the transitioning of further global functions and establishing clear operating processes and instructions. This individual will have overall responsibility to hire and train employees locally and will report out on the operating metrics to multiple levels of management including senior leaders in the organization.

The successful candidate will possess superior collaboration skills to successfully work with Financial Operations and other colleagues in the same and other locations

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

Management

  • Manage the Billing, Revenue Assurance and Collections teams based in Bangalore
  • Have full responsibility for the output, quality and completeness of the teams.
  • Together with other functional owners within GFO ensure billing and collections business objectives are met
  • Establish and maintain a best practice control environment.
  • Establish meaningful performance objectives that align with organizational strategy
  • Establish and document best practice processes and ensure compliance with them
  • Perform mid-year and annual performance appraisals, actively manage individual performance
  • Provide appropriate rewards and recognition for achievement of stated objectives
  • Ensure transparency within department through open communication and regular team meetings
  • Manage to appropriate staffing levels and budgets and ensure full productivity
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost while providing consistent level of support
  • Act collaboratively with other senior colleagues to provide strong and consistent senior management to the Bangalore office

 

Customer Service

  • Be heavily customer-focused and provide a high level of service to external and internal customers
  • Superior ability to identify and understand customer needs and address them in a timely manner
  • Address escalations timely and professionally with a customer \ client mindset
  • Adhere to the Brookfield GRS core competencies at all times

 

Tasks

  • Be responsible for and manage all deliverables of the teams
  • Direct the development of practical and creative solutions to complex problems, fully addressing systems, rules, procedures, quality, controls and metrics
  • Lead the team to complete process analysis, design/redesign of processes to ensure that they are consistent, effective and efficient and in compliance with BGRS standards.
  • Be a senior point of contact for other functional leaders at BGRS. Work collaboratively and positively to identify issues and failures and take appropriate corrective action to resolve and then to improve processes
  • Develop and implement operational metrics and reporting showing performance against key targets
  • Develop and implement a strong change management plan and methodology to transition new activities from other areas of the business to the Bangalore teams
  • Monitor the transition of the newly established activities and ensure accountability for productivity, quality and timeliness
  • Comply with audit requirements and requests fully and on a timely basis

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of people leadership of direct and indirect reports within a large international organization
  • Graduate degree, full professional accountancy qualification strongly preferred.
  • 10-15+ years’ experience in a senior finance roles with full personal responsibility for accounting functions
  • Extensive experience of and expertise in billing and accounts receivable functions
  • Strong leadership skills; Ability to lead group of diverse individuals in a high performance team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows environment (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio)
  • Related relocation industry knowledge a plus
  • International experience with direct \ indirect reports in multiple locations globally
  • Superior business acumen, analytical focus and attention to detail
  • In house/ captive experience preferred.
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills;
  • Excellent verbal and oral English communication skills
