Role Overview:

The financial analyst will provide financial, operational and business development support to the finance team and business owners across several departments within the company. The selected candidate will prepare monthly financial reports and variance analysis, and will understand business trends and opportunities in order to build forecast, budgets and business plans. The role will require initiative, ownership and the ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in producing monthly and quarterly management reports and KPIs for the business
• Identify and analyze monthly variance of actual to budget operating expenses, revenue and other relevant performance indicators
• Assist in updating the forwarding looking financial statements by making use of internally sourced data and input from the global business leaders
• Work closely with members of the Finance team and other functional areas to provide financial support and analysis to facilitate key business decisions
• Assist in developing the detailed annual budget, working collaboratively with the multi-functional team.  Challenge key assumptions based on actual trends, knowledge of the business model and the need to drive continuous performance improvement
• Identify process improvement opportunities and drive change
• Engage in projects designed to drive efficiency and improve profitability

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, working within financial analysis or accounting
• Strong excel skills is a must
• Experience using Microsoft Great Plains and Hyperion Financial Management is an asset
• Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively work with others
• Strong communication, planning and organizational skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
