Role Overview

The Senior Supplier Account Specialist position works in conjunction with the SAM and Client Services to support the partnership with multiple medium to lower complexity client accounts that form part of BGRS’ corporate client portfolio.  For their allocated client account(s), the Senior Specialist is accountable for driving excellence in supplier performance across all service lines that BGRS is engaged to manage regionally.  This role reports into the Manager, Supplier Account Management.  The Supplier Account Management team is responsible for supporting Client Services with coordinating and managing the provision of high quality customer oriented products and services delivered by the BGRS global supply chain. The Supplier Account Management team is also responsible for offering policy, product or service tailoring recommendations to the client and Client Services and for providing client training.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Act as principal supply chain point of accountability for a portfolio of medium to lower complexity corporate clients accounts and develop relationships with BGRS personnel working on the accounts.
  • For allocated client account(s), foster a sound understanding of company culture, internal and external service teams and key issues as well as supply chain related contractual obligations.
  • Implement client specific supply chain strategy with a view to ensuring full utilisation of contracted services, driving cost savings and innovation and achieving agreed supplier service level agreement goals.
  • Understand Client Service strategic growth plan(s) for allocated corporate client account(s).
  • Compile supply chain reporting, including but not limited to the following: client dedicated network performance and spend; client network trends; client specific initiatives and projects; client specific market analysis/newsletters; BGRS products/services and sourcing updates.
  • Develop client specific best practice tools for client dedicated network to drive regional consistency in service delivery and to support continuous improvement.
  • Work on initiatives and projects related to allocated client account(s), including: cost savings; supplier innovations and value-add; client specific supplier communications e.g. related to client developments; client specific supplier trainings on client culture, needs, policies and procedures; client and/or Client Services presentations and trainings (related to client dedicated suppliers).
  • Prepare supply chain input for allocated client(s)’ recurring client reviews and occasionally participate in such reviews, if requested to do so by Client Services.
  • Support more senior team members with preparing input for client reviews and/or meetings including providing data collation and analysis or supporting reporting needs and/or presentation deck preparation.
  • Provide support for RFPs, RFIs, and re-bids for allocated client account(s) and accounts of more senior team members, as requested.
  • Support Client Services’ team members with supplier issues/escalations on all service lines that BGRS is engaged to manage for the allocated client(s) and offer solutions or recommendations on process changes or preventative actions to prevent SLA breaches.
  • Partner with appropriate internal resources, in particular Global Supplier Networks to recommend recognition, probation and supplier termination where necessary and in case of the latter to ensure effective new supplier set-up.
  • Work closely with Global and Regional Network Managers to manage/optimise supplier performance for allocated client account(s), providing input and/or participating in supplier performance calls, as appropriate.

What You Bring to BGRS

  • Experience managing supplier performance
  • Good understanding of mobility dynamics including competitors, customers, legal, procurement and regulatory frameworks and suppliers
  • Knowledge of global supply chain team and Client Service function.
  • Ability to be proactive and to work on own initiative
  • Ability to lead/support RFI/RFP processes
  • Solid interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Clear ability to present solutions, solve issues and to be an advocate for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Confidence to present across supplier and client settings
  • Solid problem solving/decision making skills
  • Strong negotiating and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and highly organised
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Strong ability in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Additional language skills is preferred but not essential
  • Experience of living abroad or working with different cultures
  • Contract negotiation
